Looking for Toronto Hotels - Check out One King West

Mark Aaron

Mark is a native Montrealer with a healthy appetite. Vegetarian since 1992, Mark brings his unique perspective to the business of food and reviews. He also tends not to eat pasta or starches of any kind, but give him a vegetable, fruit, or legume, he’s good to go.

His ideal restaurant would be a completely vegan Thai or Indian restaurant priced under $10.00 and serves extra thick smoothies! He also prefers the more economically accessible establishments in Toronto, of which he has written a number of reviews. Mark’s favourite places include Ginger and Yonge and Bloor where he enjoys cheap veggie Pho with a veggie salad roll and a mango smoothie! He also loves the Friendly Thai’s veggie hot and sour soup and anything from King’s Cafe in Kensington Market. His favourite brunch place is Three’s Company Cafe at Danforth and Pape. His favourite soda beverage is Diet Pepsi and his favourite hot beverage is a double tall sugar-free vanilla non fat extra hot latte at Starbucks.

Mark has been writing reviews for Torontobrunch since 2003.  At the beginning of September 2008 Mark left Toronto and moved to New York City, where he took a faculty position as a Reference and Instruction Librarian at  the College of Staten Island, one of the senior colleges of CUNY.  He lives in Manhattan (in Spanish Harlem) with his four cats Oliver, Hope, Grace, and Sofia.

When Mark is not working, he loves to bike around Manhattan, run in Central Park, and discover new vegetarian and vegan restaurants. He also enjoys  reading, and buying full seasons of old 1970’s TV on DVD.  On the rare occasion, he likes to cook healthy vegetarian dishes but 99% of the time he prefers to dine out!
